A proposal was made to lift the TikTok ban in Kyrgyzstan

The decision to block TikTok in Kyrgyzstan may be reconsidered. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Marat Tagayev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, attention needs to be paid to this issue. He emphasized at a ministry meeting that the special center for monitoring and studying the information environment has been closed.
Currently, there is no separate body systematically working with social networks and platforms. For this reason, it is proposed to cancel the decision to block TikTok.
It is noted that although TikTok is officially restricted, users, especially young people, continue to use it via VPN. This shows that the ban is not effective in practice.
The presence of the ban does not stop the use of the platform, it only makes it more difficult. It is recalled that access to TikTok has been restricted since April 18, 2024.
This decision was implemented through instructions to telecom operators. Currently, there is only a proposal to lift this ban, and no final decision has been made yet.
Official information is expected to be announced.
