Panch and his toy in the world's attention

Panch, a small macaque living in a zoo in Ichikawa city, Japan, has attracted global attention. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Only 7 months old, videos about this little monkey's simple yet touching life have caused a huge sensation on social media. Especially, the soft toy shaped like an orangutan given to him as a “mother” figure became famous.
It is reported that after the videos became popular, this toy, sold for about 20 dollars in IKEA stores, was quickly sold out. Due to the sharp increase in demand, it became difficult to find the toy in many areas.
Some buyers even managed to make a profit by reselling the toy. For example, they sold the toy in online stores at prices ranging from 90 to 350 dollars.
Briefly about Panch’s life, he was born in July 2025. However, after his mother abandoned him, zoo staff gave him a soft toy shaped like an orangutan.
Panch hugged this toy affectionately and felt calm. On January 19, staff tried to introduce Panch to a group of other monkeys.
However, the group members did not accept him. This situation affected Panch deeply, and he still has not given up his soft toy.
Panch’s story caused a great resonance on social media. By February 13, more than 37,000 posts were published under the hashtag “Panch.”
At the same time, the number of visitors to the zoo has also increased significantly. It is clear that the emotional bond of a small creature with a toy has attracted the attention of the whole world.
For Panch, this toy is not just an ordinary item but remains a symbol of peace and affection.
