Alirizo Arafiy appointed as temporary leader of Iran

Alirizo Arafiy has been appointed as the temporary leader of Iran. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Reuters, he started work as a member of the governing council. The 67-year-old Arafiy was assigned the task of temporarily exercising the powers of the supreme leader.
He joined the council alongside President Masoud Pezeshkiyon and Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei. According to sources, Arafiy is a cleric with extensive experience in government institutions.
He is also known as one of Ali Khamenei's trusted representatives. Before the appointment, Alirizo Arafiy served as the deputy chairman of the Assembly of Experts.
He has also been active in the influential Guardians Council. Additionally, he led the system of religious educational institutions in Iran.
According to information, during the transition period, the country will be governed by a temporary leadership council. Earlier today, the death of the former leader Ali Khamenei was officially confirmed, and a temporary governance mechanism was launched in Iran.
