US troops destroyed Iranian catamarans near the Strait of Hormuz

US military forces destroyed sixteen Iranian mine-laying catamarans near the Strait of Hormuz. Zamin.uz reported this.
This was announced on March 10 by the Commander of US Central Command. The strike came following reports that Iran intended to mine the Strait of Hormuz, through which oil tankers pass in the region.
US President Donald Trump also confirmed on his social media platform that Iranian vessels had been destroyed. A video showing the catamarans struck by Central Command was also released.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most critical routes for oil transport from the Middle East, and civilian vessels have barely been moving through it since Israel and the US began their war against Iran. On the morning of March 10, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that while US and Israeli attacks continue, it would prevent oil exports from the region.
Subsequently, based on US intelligence reports, news spread that Iran was preparing to mine the Strait of Hormuz. Donald Trump warned Tehran that severe consequences awaited for this action.
It should be recalled that Israel and the US launched major military attacks against Iran on February 28. On the first day of hostilities, Iran's supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials were killed.
His 56-year-old son, Mojtaba Khamenei, succeeded him. In response, Iran has also been striking Israeli territory and US military bases in the Middle East.
