In Tajikistan, the holy month of Ramadan in 2026 will last 29 days. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It was also announced that Eid al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of Ramadan, will be celebrated on March 20. This was reported by the “Asia-Plus” publication, citing the country's Committee for Coordination of Religious Affairs, Traditions, and Ceremonies.
According to sources, on March 17, a meeting of the Council of Ulema of Tajikistan was held, and this decision was made. According to the Council of Ulema's decision, Eid al-Fitr prayers in all mosques across the country will begin at 7:30 AM on March 20.
That day will be declared a public holiday in Tajikistan. During the meeting, instructions were given to provide material assistance to those in need during sermons, to avoid wastefulness during the holiday, and to promote thriftiness.
Additionally, all imams were tasked with delivering the Council of Ulema's congratulatory message to the public. This decision was made to respect religious traditions in the country and to strengthen unity in society.
During Ramadan, the population is encouraged to increase mutual compassion and kindness. The holiday days are considered important for fostering family warmth and elevating religious values.
