The conflict in the Middle East is escalating US and Iran tensions intensify
Bloody clashes in the Middle East are entering their third week. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

While the world community is focusing on the sharp tensions between the White House and Tehran, the situation is becoming more complicated than expected. Zamin.uz analyzes the latest state of this conflict and possible development paths.

US President Donald Trump has not yet openly stated the exact purpose of the military actions against Iran. What is the White House’s intention: to overthrow the current government, force Tehran to negotiate on its nuclear program, or completely eliminate its military potential?

These questions remain unanswered. Although Iran has suffered significant economic and military damage, it has managed to deliver a heavy blow to the global market.

About 20 percent of the world’s oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz, and Tehran has blocked this crucial route. As a result, fuel prices have sharply increased.

The expansion of the conflict shows the Islamic Republic’s tactic of raising the cost of war. Attacks on neighboring countries are intensifying regional instability.

The Trump administration has underestimated Iran’s defensive measures and its ability to damage the global economy. The president faces two options.

The first is to continue the war, which increases new risks and the danger of losing control. The second is to end the conflict, but this would be a political defeat since the declared goals have not been achieved.

Although part of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure has been destroyed, it can be restored. Tehran has a stockpile of highly enriched uranium sufficient to produce 10 nuclear warheads.

Among the expected scenarios is a war of attrition, where the reserves of ammunition and air defense systems play a crucial role. Trump called on allies to protect tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, but European countries and South Korea rejected this proposal.

Another scenario is the US capturing Kharg Island or sending special forces to seize nuclear stockpiles. This could lead to heavy losses for American military personnel.

Over the past three weeks, more than 2,100 people have died as a result of the conflict. On the Iranian side, there are over 1,300 civilian casualties.

The US military has lost 13 personnel. The number of US forces in the region is approximately 52,500.

These figures demonstrate the seriousness of the conflict and the risks of its continuation.
