Plane crash at New York airport: two pilots killed
A serious plane crash occurred last night at LaGuardia Airport in New York City at 10:06 PM local time. Zamin.uz reported on this incident.

In Tashkent time, the event took place today, Monday morning at 8:30 AM. A regional aircraft belonging to Air Canada Express collided with a fire truck moving within the airport area while landing.

As a result of this tragic incident, both the captain and the co-pilot of the aircraft passed away. The severity of the impact is evident from this outcome.

According to American media outlets and international news agencies, several passengers and airport staff sustained injuries of varying degrees during the incident. Two police officers inside the fire truck, namely one sergeant and a regular officer, suffered broken bones and were transported to the hospital.

They are currently in stable condition with vital organs functioning and are receiving medical treatment. The aircraft had arrived from Montreal and carried 72 passengers and four crew members on board.

The flight was operated by Jazz Aviation, and the aircraft struck the fire truck at approximately 40 kilometers per hour. Visually, the nose of the aircraft was severely damaged and bent upwards.

According to officials, the collision occurred while the fire truck was moving on runway four of the airport in response to another emergency situation. The US Federal Aviation Administration decided to temporarily close the airport until 2:00 PM on Monday.

As a result, eighteen flights were diverted to other airports or had their routes changed. LaGuardia Airport is one of the most visited transportation hubs in the US, serving over 30 million passengers annually.

Investigations into the causes and consequences of the incident are currently underway.
