Steinmeier sharply criticized the US and Israel's offensive against Iran.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier sharply criticized the military campaign launched by the US and Israel against Iran. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He assessed this action as a serious political mistake that violates international legal norms. On March 24, the president delivered a speech at a ceremony held in Berlin in honor of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the German Foreign Ministry, emphasizing that it is possible to prevent the conflict.
According to him, these events have weakened the trust between Washington and its allies, as well as damaged the global power of the United States. Steinmeier said that relations with the current administration in the US have fundamentally changed, and that after Donald Trump's second term began, it is impossible to return to the old era.
He emphasized that Berlin should cooperate pragmatically with Washington but must not abandon its values or ignore violations of international law. According to the president, if Germany does not openly express respect for international law, its reputation on the international stage will decline.
He also reminded that the European Union is based on rules and legal norms, warning that if Europe's worldview is based solely on power, it will harm its own future. Speaking at the event, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced that significant changes are occurring in transatlantic relations.
He stressed that European security is facing the most serious threats in seventy-five years and that this should be regarded as the highest priority. At the same time, it was also noted that the historical importance of the US for Germany in the post-war period should not be forgotten.
These views are of great importance in determining the future direction of cooperation between Europe and America.
