Ukraine is now recognized not only as a recipient of international aid but also as an important partner with valuable experience in the security sector. The historic document signed in Riyadh requires a deeper analysis of the interests of both states.
The agreement signed between the Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and Saudi Arabia defines a new structure for regional security. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this document serves as a solid legal foundation for technological partnership and mutual investments between the two countries.
For over five years, Ukraine has been successfully fighting against attacks by ballistic missiles and Shahed-type drones developed by Iran. Now, Kyiv is ready to share its unique and blood-tested experience with Riyadh.
In the field of air defense systems, Ukraine will provide significant assistance to Saudi Arabia in developing the most critical components. This cooperation is not limited merely to equipment supply but also includes modern elements such as mutual system integration, the use of artificial intelligence, and in-depth data analysis.
During the meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, serious issues of geopolitical importance were discussed. This dialogue extensively covered the rapprochement between Russia and Iran, Tehran's military assistance to Moscow, and its impact on regional security.
Furthermore, the stability of fuel prices in the energy market and future joint projects also played a significant role. Joint measures against missile threats from Iran in the Middle East and Gulf region were also discussed within the framework of security guarantees.
Currently, more than a hundred Ukrainian military experts are operating at various points in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Their main task is to develop the most effective methods of protection against Iranian drones and missiles and to improve local defense systems.
In the coming days, it is expected that the activities of Ukrainian experts will expand to Kuwait and other neighboring states. The leader of Ukraine stated in his words that they are ready to contribute to ensuring the security of their friends who help defend their independence.
In your opinion, how much can Ukraine's experience in fighting drones strengthen Saudi Arabia's security, and how will this rapprochement affect the balance of power in the region.
