Rubio Blamed Zelensky for Changing the Truth

Recently, an unexpected chill has formed in diplomatic relations between Washington and Kyiv. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sharply rejected the recent statements of the Ukrainian president and clarified the current situation. During a conversation with journalists at France's Le Bourget airport, the Secretary of State accused Volodymyr Zelensky of distorting the truth.
This dispute mainly arose over the expected security guarantees for Ukraine and the future of the Donbass region. According to Marco Rubio, the American side did not promise Kyiv security guarantees in exchange for withdrawing troops from Donbass.
According to him, this issue is completely untrue, and Zelensky himself knows well that these statements are false. The real message from America is that security guarantees will only come into effect after the war is completely over.
However, these guarantees have never been conditional on relinquishing territories. In clearly explaining Washington's role, Rubio said that the U.S. acted as an envoy delivering Russia's demands to Ukraine.
This means that America is not forcing Ukraine to make territorial concessions. If Ukraine does not want to compromise, then the fighting will continue.
Similarly, if Russia does not compromise, the war will not stop. Currently, Russia has been demanding the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass to stop the war since the fall of 2025.
Zelensky had earlier said that the U.S. was pressuring to end the war by June this year due to the U.S. Congressional elections in November 2026. Now the situation may become even more complicated.
Journalists asked Rubio whether weapons intended for Ukraine might be redirected to the Middle East, especially to the front where the war against Iran is ongoing. Marco Rubio emphasized that the direction of the weapons has not changed yet, but this possibility cannot be ruled out.
If the weapons are needed by the U.S. itself, Washington will use them primarily for its own needs. Do you think security guarantees for Ukraine are more important than territorial integrity?
How much could the redirection of U.S. weapons to the Middle East change the situation on the Ukrainian front?
