Maduro, who is in prison, spoke on social media for the first time.

Nicolas Maduro, the president of Venezuela who is detained in the United States, addressed his supporters through social media for the first time after a long break. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He emphasized that his physical and mental condition is stable and expressed deep gratitude to those supporting him. In a statement posted on behalf of the politician and his wife Cilia Flores, it was specifically noted that the letters, prayers, and warm words they receive give strength to their spirit.
In the message, it was said, "We have received all your messages, every kind word gives us new strength." They explained their condition with the words, "We are stable, our will is strong, calm, and we are constantly praying."
In his speech, Maduro stressed the importance of peace, national unity, and constructive dialogue. He said that Venezuelan society must develop based on the principles of reconciliation and mutual respect.
He also expressed sincere gratitude not only to his compatriots but also to people supporting him worldwide. According to him, this support gives him spiritual strength and inner stability.
It is worth noting that on January 3, US military forces conducted a special operation in Caracas, capturing Maduro and his wife and taking them to New York. White House leader Donald Trump announced that they would be prosecuted based on charges related to narco-terrorism.
However, Maduro and his spouse completely deny these charges. According to the latest information, the second court hearing on this case has also taken place.
Observers note that Maduro has shown significant changes in appearance; he was brought to the courtroom noticeably thinner. It was noted that he was in prison clothes, without handcuffs, but shackled.
The president’s defense argued that the sanctions imposed by the US prevent payment for legal services from Venezuelan state funds and demanded the case be closed. However, the court did not support this claim and rejected the request.
These events remain at the center of attention not only for Venezuela but also for the global community. How the next developments will affect international political relations and the geopolitical balance remains open for now.
