A number of international contracts were canceled within the framework of the Neom project.

News related to the historically significant Neom project being implemented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently attracted widespread public attention. Zamin.uz reported on this.
Several international companies announced the cancellation of contracts signed within this grand program. These events have raised important questions regarding how rapidly construction processes are developing in the kingdom.
The canceled agreements cover two of the most famous and ambitious projects in the Neom region. One is the Trojena ski resort planned for construction in the Tabuk province, and the other is the world-renowned futuristic linear city known as The Line.
Eversendai, a company operating in the steel industry, announced the cancellation of its contract for supplying and installing steel structures required for the Trojena project. Additionally, Italy's major construction company Webuild announced the cancellation of its contract to build three dams in the Trojena area.
These dams were expected to create a large freshwater lake within the resort. Meanwhile, Hyundai Engineering and Construction stated that it also canceled its joint contract with Samsung C&T and Archirodon for tunnel construction related to The Line project.
These decisions further fuel speculation that work in Neom is progressing more slowly than initially planned. The Line project had already undergone significant changes.
While previous plans envisioned a population of five million residing in the city by 2030, this figure has now been reduced to three hundred thousand for 2024. The recent contract cancellations clearly indicate serious issues in the implementation and planning of Neom's flagship project.
