US strikes military facility at Iran's Bandar Abbas port

Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated, with the political and military situation deteriorating unexpectedly, according to Zamin.uz.
The standoff between the White House and Tehran has now moved into a phase of direct armed confrontation. U.S. military forces launched a powerful airstrike on a military installation near the port of Bandar Abbas, located on Iran’s southern coast and considered strategically vital.
According to Reuters, citing senior U.S. officials, this strike could completely alter the balance of forces in the region. The international community is closely watching this dangerous development with growing concern. Details of the incident and the official positions of the parties involved are outlined below.
Regarding the aerial clash and covert targeting in the Strait of Hormuz, a U.S. military spokesperson stated that American air defenses shot down four Iranian combat drones operating in the area, which is considered international waters.
However, the U.S. did not limit its actions to destroying drones alone.
The Pentagon also targeted Iran’s covert underground command center located in the city of Bandar Abbas. Intelligence reports indicate that, at the exact moment of the strike, preparations were underway at this concealed facility to launch the next attack drone into the air.
U.S. officials emphasized that these sharp military actions were taken solely for self-defense and to maintain the pause in ongoing escalations. America’s strike did not go unanswered.
Shortly afterward, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), regarded as its most powerful military force, issued a statement announcing that an appropriate response had been delivered to U.S. aggression. Iranian forces launched a missile and drone strike against one of the major U.S. air bases in the Middle East.
In its statement, the IRGC warned that this attack was a serious warning to Washington, and that any act of aggression would not go unanswered. It added that if such incidents recur, Tehran’s future strikes would be even more devastating and decisive.
Although Iran has not disclosed which specific military base was targeted, Kuwaiti armed forces reported with astonishment that their air defense systems had destroyed several missiles and drones during the U.S. aerial assault.
There is also information about what triggered these developments.
According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, shortly before the U.S. airstrike, an incident occurred in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian naval forces attempted to stop, by force, a large vessel heading toward the strait that was suspected of being linked to the United States.
The ship changed course and was forced to retreat after encountering armed resistance.
At present, the situation in the region remains extremely tense.
