A new banknote featuring Donald Trump may be issued in the USA

Reports of an unexpected and historic change in the United States monetary system have drawn attention from the global community, according to Zamin.uz.
As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its independence, the White House is reportedly advancing a proposal to issue a new $250 banknote featuring the portrait of sitting President Donald Trump.
If implemented, this would mark the first time in over 160 years of U.S. Treasury history that the likeness of a living person appears on national currency.
However, experts note that executing such a complex process would require several years, significant legal reforms, and technical preparation.
According to influential publications, government officials are pressuring the Bureau of Engraving and Printing—the agency responsible for currency production—to accelerate the design of the new bill.
Senior officials at the Department of the Treasury have submitted preliminary drafts to relevant authorities, demanding that the process be expedited.
This has raised concerns among specialists in the field, as current federal law permits only the depiction of deceased historical figures on U.S. currency.
The portrayal of living individuals on money has been strictly prohibited by law since 1866.
The design of the proposed $250 note is said to be underway by renowned British artist Ian Alexander, known for his earlier portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
According to the concept, Donald Trump’s portrait would be centered on the note, surrounded by the official seals of government officials.
The design is also planned to incorporate the colors of the American flag and a special anniversary logo.
This initiative has sparked political controversy.
In particular, it is reported that Patricia Solimen, director of the bureau overseeing currency production, was removed from her position due to legal objections to the new currency.
The matter is now not only an economic issue but has become a focal point of significant political debate.
