Cat theft and selling ring dismantled in Vietnam

During special inspections conducted by law enforcement agencies in Vietnam, dozens of pets were rescued from danger, Zamin.uz reported.
The police disrupted the activities of a group involved in kidnapping animals and illegally selling them. According to reports, more than 400 live cats were found during the inspections.
Additionally, dozens of animal carcasses stored in a frozen state were discovered. Furthermore, at another location, dozens of cats were found and taken to a safe place.
During the investigation, group members admitted that in recent years they had been capturing and selling cats from the southern regions of the country. They temporarily kept the animals in special locations before handing them over to sellers.
According to animal protection organizations, some of the rescued cats have been returned to their owners. However, due to the harsh conditions in which they were kept, it was not possible to save some of the animals.
Experts say that millions of dogs and cats are illegally captured and sold for trade in Vietnam each year. In recent years, public concern about this issue has been growing.
In particular, young people and pet lovers are expressing strong opposition to such situations. Currently, the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
Law enforcement agencies are calling on owners of missing pets to come forward in an orderly manner.
