Life sentence for person accused of killing Uzbek citizen in Turkey

A Turkish court has sentenced Metin Kapusuz, who was accused of killing 63-year-old Uzbekistan citizen Dinara Alya Urqosimova, to aggravated life imprisonment. Zamin.uz reported this.
It was also established during the investigation that the woman wrapped the body with an elastic band. Turkish press reported this.
According to the information, the incident occurred on June 21, 2025, in the Esenler mahalla of Chanoqqala province. Although the deceased had not been missing for three days, her relatives reported to the police.
When police officers arrived at the address where Dinara Alya Urqosimova lived, her 48-year-old acquaintance Metin Kapusuz opened the door. During the search, the lifeless body of the woman was found in the massage room.
Subsequently, Kapusuz was arrested at the scene and detained. According to the investigation's conclusion, an accusation was filed against the suspect under the article "intentional killing of a woman."
During the court hearing held on June 12, 2026, Metin Kapusuz denied his guilt. He stated in court that he did not kill the woman himself, but only wrapped her body after her death and deleted the information on his phone.
However, after examining the evidence and case materials, the court reached the conclusion that his guilt was fully proven. The court did not apply mitigating circumstances to the accused and sentenced him to aggravated life imprisonment, depriving him of liberty.
