In China, a woman chats with an AI copy of her dead son

An event has occurred in China that has both amazed and sparked controversy among the public. Zamin.uz reported on this.
It has become known that an 80-year-old woman spent a year communicating with a digital copy of her son, who died in a car accident, created using artificial intelligence. Family members believed that delivering the devastating news to the mother immediately could have a severe impact on her mental state.
Therefore, they created a digital replica of the deceased based on his photographs, videos, and voice recordings. The resulting program accurately reflected the man's appearance, voice, tone of speech, and certain behaviors.
For a long time, the woman accepted these conversations as real communication and continued to speak with her son as before. Currently, this situation is being widely discussed not only in terms of technological capabilities but also regarding its ethical and psychological aspects.
While some view such an approach as a way of supporting the mother, others believe that hiding the death of a loved one and using their personal data is wrong. Specialists emphasize that in such cases, family members should not use photos, voice recordings, and personal data without prior consent, and that providing psychological assistance to people is crucial.
