Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire

A significant political shift has been observed in easing tensions in the Middle East. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of multilateral negotiations mediated by the US and Qatar, Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah movement have reached a ceasefire agreement. International observers evaluate this truce as the first serious step toward extinguishing the flames of a major war in the region and improving Washington-Tehran relations.
The agreement began with the signing of a remote memorandum between the US and Iran on June 17, providing for a ceasefire on all fronts. On June 19, Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire regime starting from the second half of the day.
Over the next 60 days, the parties must develop a final peace agreement based on mutual understanding. Although the truce has entered into force, full tranquility is not observed on the front line.
The Israeli Defense Forces are maintaining their positions in the southern territories of Lebanon. Israeli officials state that they will not continue military operations as long as Hezbollah does not attack.
Lebanese sources claim that more than 10 airstrikes were carried out by Israel within the first hour of the truce. Israel denies these accusations, emphasizing that the agreement has not been violated.
Behind this truce in Lebanon lie major geopolitical relations between the US and Iran. According to Hezbollah representative Hasan Fadlallah, Iran set the ceasefire on the Lebanese front as a primary condition for continuing negotiations with the US.
Currently, the situation has shifted to a mode of bilateral waiting. The Iranian side wants to see the practical implementation of US promises before moving to the next stage.
After the meeting in Switzerland was postponed, US President Donald Trump criticized the Iranian leadership and stated that only Washington would determine the subsequent 60-day process. At the same time, this 60-day period will be a decisive period that will determine whether a stable peace is established in the region or if clashes escalate with renewed force.
