Senators are examining a 250-dollar banknote featuring Trump

Democratic senators are asking the Office of the Inspector General of the US Treasury Department to investigate a proposal to issue a $250 bill featuring the image of Donald Trump, Zamin.uz reported.
According to Axios, the senators requested an examination of the projected costs of producing such a bill and its legal basis. Under US law, portraits of living persons may not appear on currency.
Therefore, issuing a banknote with Trump's portrait could require special congressional approval.
