Vuchich resigned from the presidency

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced his resignation. Zamin.uz reported this.
He announced this decision before a large crowd at a rally held in Belgrade. In his speech, the Serbian leader also mentioned the individuals who had previously criticized him as someone who would never leave the presidency, noting that his activities as the head of state are now coming to an end.
Even after leaving the presidency, Vučić does not plan to stay away from political life. He expressed his intention to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
There are plans to hold both presidential and parliamentary elections ahead of schedule in the country, but the exact date has not yet been disclosed. Vučić's current term of office was originally supposed to end in 2027.
It is noteworthy that the resignation statement was made during a period of intensifying anti-corruption protests in Serbia. Large demonstrations involving thousands of people have taken place in the country, demanding that the government's actions in the fight against corruption are insufficient.
