The mysterious metal spheres found in Australia turned out to be parts of a rocket

The Australian Space Agency has released preliminary findings on the origin of mysterious metal fragments discovered along the northern coast of Queensland, Earth.uz reports.
According to experts, these unusual objects could be high-pressure specialized containers used during the launch of space rockets. The discovery of six large metal fragments on the Forrest-Beach near Townsville during recent holidays attracted attention from both locals and specialists.
While initial speculation suggested the fragments might be space debris, agency officials now confirm that markings and structural features of the items fully match components of rocket launch vehicles. Currently, Australian authorities are working closely with international organizations to determine which country these rocket parts belong to.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the Queensland Fire Service has established a 50-meter safety zone around the discovery site. Experts are warning local residents not to approach or touch the suspicious objects.
It is emphasized that emergency services should be contacted immediately in any suspicious situation. Online, various theories are being widely discussed, suggesting the fragments could be fuel tanks from spacecraft.
Experts caution that the containers may contain residual flammable or highly hazardous chemicals harmful to human health. For this reason, specialized teams in protective gear, under police supervision, have placed the fragments into designated containers for hazardous materials.
According to local entrepreneurs, the incident has caused significant commotion in an area usually known for its tranquility. According to information from the Australian Space Agency, the location where the fragments were found and their technical specifications correspond to the trajectory of foreign rocket parts re-entering Earth’s atmosphere from orbit.
It should be noted that this is not the first such incident observed in Australian waters. Earlier, in 2023, a large metal dome found off the coast of Western Australia was confirmed to belong to an Indian rocket launch vehicle.
Additionally, similar metal fragments have been reported in other parts of the world, particularly in Namibia.
