Zelenskiy said the war outcome depends on air superiority
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the outcome of the ongoing armed conflict with Russia will largely depend on air superiority. This was reported by Zamin.uz. In a special interview with the Financial Times, the head of state emphasized that the situation on the front has fundamentally changed and the conflict has entered an entirely new phase. At the same time, it was reported that the situation in the region has significantly deteriorated following intense clashes in the town of Vishnevoe in the Kyiv region.
According to the Ukrainian leader, at this stage, controlling ground territories is less important than achieving dominance and superiority in the airspace. Zelenskyy noted that whose territory is how large has become a secondary issue in the current circumstances.
The main focus is now on the airspace, and Ukrainian armed forces are striving to increase their competitiveness in this direction. While the front line remains relatively stable and the enemy is unable to move freely at sea, the decisive factor in determining the outcome of the war has become air strikes and air defense.
Zelenskyy pointed out that the character of the war has changed significantly and described this as a new era of warfare. He stressed that future success will largely depend on pilotless aircraft, the precision of missile strikes, and the effectiveness of air defense systems.
For this reason, Ukraine is directing its efforts toward employing modern technologies and strengthening control of the skies. Incidents that occurred in the town of Vishnevoe near Kyiv have also come into the president’s focus.
Zelenskyy confirmed via his official channel that the threat of bilateral shelling in the area has been verified following Russian attacks, and the situation is highly complicated. Interior Minister Igor Klimenko regularly reports on rescue operations, debris clearance, and fire extinguishing efforts.
The state leader tasked security and intelligence agencies with fully clarifying the true causes and details of this incident. Meanwhile, various speculations about the event are being circulated in social media and political circles.
In particular, former parliament deputy Igor Mosiychuk claimed that Russian troops struck an ammunition depot located in the industrial zone of Vishnevoe, where special munitions of strategic importance might be stored.
However, this information has not yet been confirmed by official sources. Zelenskyy, despite all difficulties, continues to focus primarily on the struggle for air supremacy, as it is expected that dominance in the skies will ultimately determine the final outcome of the war.
