Kazakhstan Prime Minister Bektenov Oljas Bektenov Reappointed

By decree of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Oljas Bektenov has been reappointed as Prime Minister of the country. This was reported by the President's press service.
Prior to the decision, the head of state met with faction leaders of political parties at the Mäjilis and proposed Bektenov's candidacy. Members of Parliament unanimously gave their full support.
Oljas Bektenov's political career Oljas Bektenov was first appointed Prime Minister in February 2024. Prior to that, starting in April 2023, he headed the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since February 2022, he has served as Chairman of the Agency for Combating Corruption, where he carried out effective work. His experience in anti-corruption efforts has enabled him to perform reliably in high-ranking administrative positions.
Tasks facing the new government The high level of trust expressed by the President is aimed at ensuring consistency in the country's economic and social policy. Under Bektenov's leadership, the renewed Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with key requirements, including diversifying the economy and improving the investment climate.
The Mäjilis's support provides the new executive body with the opportunity to implement major state programs steadily.
