A five-story building collapsed in Karachi
A tragic incident occurred in Karachi, one of the largest cities in Pakistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The five-story residential building located in the Liaquatabad area suddenly collapsed on July 4. According to official information, the number of casualties has reached 17.

The incident has raised great concern and sorrow throughout the country and among the local population. Immediately, state rescue services and police were mobilized in response to the situation.

More than 100 rescuers and service personnel are tirelessly working to search for those trapped under the rubble. Special equipment is being used to check for any survivors.

So far, approximately 10 people have been identified with signs of life. However, there are warnings that the number of victims may increase.

According to witnesses, strong tremors similar to an earthquake were felt several hours before the building collapsed. However, the local population did not take this seriously, thinking it was an earthquake.

Additionally, the local administration and special services had warned several times about evacuating the building, but many residents did not leave their homes. Karachi Mayor Murtoza Wahab emphasized that this building had previously been recognized as dangerous and residents were instructed to relocate.

Investigative authorities have begun to examine the causes of the tragedy, and nearby buildings are being inspected for safety. This incident once again highlighted the need for improved construction quality, adequate oversight, and increased attention to citizens' safety in the city.

Currently, the entire city population expresses sympathy for the victims and their families. Rescue operations are still ongoing.
