Wakuku toys are creating strong competition for Labubu

Beijing — A serious competitor to the "Labubu" toy has emerged in the Chinese market. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The toy named Wakuku, which has become a new trend, is gaining significant attention, especially among girls and young people. TikTok users are referring to this toy as the "budget Labubu," according to the Pravilamag.ru website.

The Wakuku character was created by China's Letsvan company in 2022-2023 and was launched for mass sales starting in 2024. In a short time, this toy has sparked great interest among young people, particularly those born after 2000.

In March, a panda-shaped Wakuku was presented at the Miniso Land store in Beijing. This product helped increase the store's revenue by 90 percent.

In June, a new Wakuku model sold out within two hours at the Miniso Space store in Nanking. Wakuku toys are sold in mystery boxes, similar to the popular Labubu toys from Pop Mart.

Until the buyer opens the box, they do not know which character is inside. This method generates curiosity among customers.

Additionally, Wakuku toys are small in size, making them convenient to carry in a bag, backpack, or on a belt. Today, they are valued not only as toys but also as fashion accessories.

Labubu toys are often sold at high and exclusive prices. In contrast, Wakuku is more affordable, with a single box priced between approximately 85,000 to 230,000 soums.

For this reason, TikTok users are describing it as a "budget option"
