US President Donald Trump expressed critical views towards Vladimir Putin regarding the negotiations aimed at stopping the war between Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Trump, despite always being polite in communications with the Russian president, no positive results are being achieved from these conversations. The president stated that many people are dying while the war continues, and this situation needs to be stopped immediately.
Trump emphasized that Putin's words are often ineffective and futile. He also noted that the latest phone conversations regarding the Russia-Ukraine issue have not led to any positive changes.
The politician expressed his readiness to communicate with the Russian leader but pointed out that Putin is not seriously approaching the idea of stopping the war. Trump also announced that he is seriously considering a bill on new sanctions against Russia presented by Senator Lindsey Graham.
He mentioned that he is preparing a small surprise in this regard and addressed journalists. For reference, the sanctions package presented in April proposed a 500 percent tariff on goods coming from countries that trade with Russia and do not assist Ukraine.
This initiative has been supported by more than 80 out of 100 senators. What do you think, how might Trump's critical views affect US relations with Moscow?
