A mysterious shooting that occurred in central Kyiv indicates serious problems within Ukraine's security system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Colonel Ivan Voronich of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was shot dead on July 10 in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The incident happened in the morning, and the perpetrator fled the scene without leaving any traces.
Currently, the person or persons who killed the colonel are being sought. Ivan Voronich was active in one of the most secret and important divisions of the security service.
He managed special operations in Russia and temporarily occupied territories, as well as led the fifth department. It is known that during his involvement, an operation was carried out to eliminate one of the pro-Russian commanders in Donbass, known as "Motorola."
These operations were conducted in cooperation with international intelligence agencies. Ukrainian security expert and former SBU employee Ivan Stupak noted that the division Voronich worked in conducted secret operations against "Russian Spring" activists.
These operations were superficial manifestations of murder, bombings, and other violence, with the main battlefield being an invisible front. A criminal case has been opened regarding Voronich's murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
Experts suggest that this incident should not be viewed as a personal conflict but rather as a political event related to internal and external threats. Especially at a time when the security system is being reorganized, such incidents pose a serious test for the country.
Many in the public consider Voronich a hero. He operated in the field of covert intelligence and participated in numerous special operations.
At the same time, some opinions suggest that his killing is part of an internal "cleansing" process, with a struggle for control among the forces ongoing. This is leading to an increase in the number of assassination attempts against security services in Ukraine.
In conclusion, the death of Ivan Voronich illustrates how complex and dangerous the security system in Ukraine is. His killing is not just a personal conflict but a result of geopolitical games, internal competition, and external influences.
Currently, Ukraine's security services are fighting not only against external enemies but also on an invisible front within. This could be a significant test for the country.
