According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, during the war in Ukraine, North Korea has supplied a large amount of weapons and shells to Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information is noted in the country's Military Intelligence Service report. According to official data, North Korea has delivered artillery shells to Russia through a total of 28,000 containers.
If these shells are considered to be of 152 millimeter caliber, their total number will exceed 12 million. According to Kirill Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence, nearly half of the large-caliber shells in the Russian army currently come from North Korea.
The Russian government has not confirmed the purchase of weapons from North Korea in its official statement, but complaints about the shortage of shells noted at the beginning of the war are no longer being heard. Additionally, a military cooperation agreement was signed between Moscow and Pyongyang in 2024.
According to South Korean and Ukrainian intelligence services, Pyongyang is planning to send around 25,000 to 30,000 military products to Russia in the coming months. This could further expand the scope of international involvement in the war.
These processes are having a significant impact on the military-political situation in the region.
