A prisoner hid in a bag and escaped in France

A 20-year-old prisoner managed to escape from prison by hiding in his cellmate's bag. This was reported by BFMTV channel.
According to information, the young man succeeded in getting out on July 11 through one of the inmates whose sentence had ended. The prison administration only realized he was missing a day later, on July 12.
Currently, search operations for the fugitive are ongoing. He was imprisoned for crimes related to human trafficking, theft, and organized crime groups.
His escape has revealed serious shortcomings not only in criminal documentation but also in the French prison system. The prison director, Sebasten Kovel, described this incident as a rare but serious violation of the law.
According to him, this situation is the result of long-standing systemic errors in the prison. The number of inmates accepted by this facility in the city of Korba is 170 percent above the norm, which has further complicated the work of the staff.
For this reason, the likelihood of losing control over the prisoner was high. An internal service investigation is currently underway, and the police of the Rona department have initiated a special investigation.
