The assassins of SBU Colonel Ivan Voronich, who was shot dead in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, on the morning of July 10, have been eliminated. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Ukrainian Security Service chief Vasiliy Malyuk made an official statement regarding this. According to Malyuk, the individuals who targeted Voronich were specially trained agents of the Russian FSB.
Their group consisted of both a woman and a man, who had been sent to Ukraine in advance and had monitored the colonel's schedule and movements in Kyiv for several days. According to investigative data, prior to the assassination, the FSB agents received the coordinates of the location where the firearm was hidden and then carried out the shooting.
As Voronich was leaving his home, the assassin approached him and fired five shots. After committing the crime, the attackers attempted to hide in the Kyiv region.
As a result of search and counterintelligence operations, the location of the enemy was identified. They resisted and opened fire when they were being captured.
As a result, the attackers were eliminated. A clash occurred during the special operation, and video footage from the scene showed vehicles and bodies lying on the ground.
It should be noted that 50-year-old Ivan Voronich was shot dead around 9:00 AM on July 10 as he was leaving his home. After the shooting, the assassin fled the scene.
The colonel died at the scene due to severe injuries sustained. This incident once again confirmed the increasing external threats to the security system in Ukraine.
