A very rare and symbolically significant mobile phone number — 15177777777 — was sold at a record price in China. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This number was purchased on the Ali Auction online trading platform for 3.2 million yuan, which is approximately 440 thousand US dollars. This was reported by Kursiv.media.

The number was provided by China Mobile, one of the largest telecommunications operators in the country. Because the number consists of 8 consecutive 7s, it is classified as a "lucky number" in China.

In traditional Chinese culture, the number 7 is considered a symbol of luck and success. Interestingly, the person who purchased the number accepts it not as property but as a right to use it for 20 years.

According to the contract, a payment of 1500 yuan, or approximately 206 dollars, is made each month. Additionally, the number can only be officially transferred to another person after 5 years.

A minimum waiting period of 5 years is also required for the next registration process. The identity of the buyer has not been disclosed.

Experts believe that such unique numbers in China are highly valued as symbols of prestige, social status, and wealth. Owning this number is often viewed as an investment for prestigious individuals or large companies.
