Leon extended his legs surgically by 24 cm
A young man named Leon Otremba, living in Germany, has felt discriminated against for many years due to his short stature. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

His height is 171 centimeters, which has hindered him from feeling free in life. He often compared himself to others, considered himself short, and this led to mental distress.

This internal dissatisfaction and mental torment forced him to make a radical decision — Leon agreed to surgically extend his legs artificially. The process took two years, resulting in an increase of 24 centimeters, and he now stands at 195 centimeters.

The first operation was performed in 2023, where doctors used metal rods and external devices to stretch the thigh bones by 1 millimeter daily, achieving a 10-centimeter extension. Leon underwent regular medical check-ups to reduce the risk of infection.

The second complex surgical procedure was conducted at the beginning of 2025. This time, the calf bones were extended using an internal mechanism — a click system.

According to Leon, the second procedure was less painful than the first, but the recovery process took much longer. He even had to relearn how to walk.

As a result, although the young man achieved his goal, this process brought him constant physical pain and discomfort. Leon states that he experiences persistent pain in his body, which negatively affects his daily life.

Orthopedic doctors warn against such surgical procedures. For instance, specialist Luchano Miller believes that leg extension surgeries should only be performed for medical necessity, such as congenital defects or injuries.

He emphasizes that such artificial interventions disrupt the biomechanical balance of the human body, leading to negative changes in muscles and tissues. Therefore, it is essential to carefully consider the consequences before correcting any physical deficiency through surgery.

Leon’s story illustrates that while a person may seek happiness through change, fighting against the laws of nature can come at a high cost.
