The military operations in the Gaza Strip have escalated to a new phase. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of the latest operation carried out by the Israeli army, the city of Khan Yunis has been divided into two parts – separated into western and eastern areas. Several Israeli news agencies reported this.
The military operation named "Magen Oz" has been completed. This operation is of strategic importance for the Israeli military, with its main goal being to strike at the forces of Hamas in Khan Yunis and to gain control of the city.
The total length of the new corridor is approximately 15 kilometers. The Golani and Barak brigades participated in the operation.
They moved in a coordinated manner and achieved mutual consolidation. During the battles, dozens of Hamas fighters were eliminated over several weeks, and underground infrastructures, special tunnels, and weapon depots were also targeted.
Currently, the Gaza Strip is almost completely divided into segments. Earlier, the Morag corridor had separated the city of Rafah from Khan Yunis.
Now the newly created "Magen Oz" corridor is precisely dividing the city of Khan Yunis itself into two parts. The Israeli military aims to achieve two main objectives through this: the first is to complicate the logistics of the Hamas movement, and the second is to create safe routes for humanitarian needs.
According to them, this tactic serves to simplify the battlefield. International observers are seriously assessing the new situation.
The continuous division of residential areas can lead to negative consequences not only militarily but also humanitarianly. The current situation indicates that the situation in Gaza is becoming even more complex and contradictory.
The sphere of influence is expanding through new fronts and corridors, but security and humanitarian issues are also becoming urgent. Although opinions vary, the struggle unfortunately continues for now.
