The new geopolitical situation may escalate. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Washington Post reported that President Donald Trump is discussing the delivery of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. According to reports, discussions regarding the fate of Tomahawk missiles took place within the US government on July 11.
These missiles have previously been used in air strikes against Iran. Therefore, providing them to Ukraine could lead to significant political and military changes.
So far, these weapons are not officially on the list to be provided to Ukraine, but there is a possibility that the situation may change dramatically in the future. Additionally, Pentagon sources indicated that the US government might lift the range restrictions placed on ATACMS missiles available in Ukraine.
If this happens, Ukrainian forces will have the capability to strike targets up to 300 kilometers away. This would allow them to target many military facilities within Russian territory.
The conversation between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also sparked widespread discussions. According to the Washington Post, Trump asked Zelensky, “Why aren’t you striking Moscow?”
Zelensky responded, “If you provide us with enough weapons, we will do it.” Following this, Trump emphasized that Ukraine should target not only Moscow but also St. Petersburg.
On July 14, it was announced that the US and the European Union reached an agreement to supply weapons to Kyiv. This aid package may include Patriot air defense systems, corresponding missiles, and potentially offensive weapons.
According to Axios sources, the new military aid package includes long-range missiles, which would allow the Ukrainian army to threaten Moscow and St. Petersburg for the first time. The situation in global politics may become even more tense.
Because such decisions affect not only Russia and Ukraine's relations but also the security of the entire Eurasian region. Currently, all events are dependent on US political decisions and Russia's response actions.
