Five people died in heavy rain, evacuation is ongoing
Central and local government authorities have reported that five people have died and four are missing due to heavy rain. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The Central Disaster and Safety Headquarters is expected to announce new figures throughout the day. The weather service has stated that up to 250 millimeters of rain may fall today.

This could lead to new floods, landslides, and other dangerous situations. Currently, an official evacuation order has been issued for a total of 7,029 people living in 4,995 households, more than 2,800 of whom have not yet been able to return home.

The heavy rain has left roads underwater across the country, caused land shifts, and flooded hundreds of homes. For example, 98.5 millimeters of rain fell in just one hour on Yeongheung Island near Incheon, while it reached 88 millimeters in Boseong, South Jeolla Province.

In some areas, more than 40 percent of the annual expected rainfall fell within four days. In Seosan city, 558.6 millimeters of rain was recorded, accounting for 45 percent of the average rainfall for this year.

The government confirmed that 729 infrastructure facilities were damaged. Of these, 388 roads were flooded, 133 landslides occurred, and 57 riverbank structures became unusable.

Private property also suffered significant damage. A total of 1,014 damage cases were recorded, of which 64 buildings were flooded and 59 agricultural fields were submerged.

Currently, hundreds of rescuers, special equipment, and services are active. Videos and photos circulating on social media show how serious the situation is.

Experts assess such situations as a result of global climate change and rapid urbanization. Officials are urging citizens to remain vigilant, strictly adhere to safety measures, and pay attention to official warnings.
