The Fergana regional administration has approved a decision to temporarily regulate the movement of large cargo trucks in the area. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This document was presented to the public on the national portal on July 30. The decision was developed by the regional road administration to protect the road surface, taking into account the extreme heat conditions observed during the summer period.
According to the decision, the movement of heavy trucks on public roads as well as city and village streets is temporarily prohibited. These restrictions will be in effect daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The established procedure will last from July 20 to October 20. The new rules apply to vehicles carrying a load exceeding 10 tons, as well as those transporting flammable, explosive, or environmentally hazardous materials.
Additionally, restrictions will also be imposed on vehicles that do not meet safety requirements. The decision specifies that there will be no restrictions on emergency services, such as fire safety, emergency medical services, as well as municipal and industrial vehicles.
Special permits are required for the movement of cargo trucks transporting products of local businesses. The implementation of this decision will be monitored by the road traffic safety department.
They will organize weight measurement points on major roads in cooperation with regional and district administrations. At the same time, they have been tasked with conducting explanatory work among the population and transporters to convey the necessity of the new regulations.
The asphalt road surface begins to soften at +50 degrees Celsius. Under sunlight, the temperature can rise to +60-70 degrees, which leads to the deformation of the road surface under heavy trucks.
For this reason, temporary restrictions are being introduced.
