Paid parking at electric charging stations is illegal
According to Autostrada.uz, it is considered illegal for operators of charging stations in Uzbekistan to charge a fee for every minute after the charge is completely depleted, unless the operator has a special license. This was stated by the Committee for the Development of Competition and the Protection of Consumer Rights.
According to the existing regulations, a car can park for free for 10-15 minutes after the charge has ended. After that, a fee of 400-600 soums is charged for each minute. However, an operator without a license cannot demand such a fee.
According to the resolution No. 213 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 31, 2013, any paid parking activity, including those in the areas of charging stations, must be carried out on a licensing basis.
The committee reminded that operators must provide users with transparent information about tariffs and present all legal documents. Charging without a license is a violation of the law.
Residents can contact the Committee via the short number 1159 to file complaints regarding such cases.
