Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 148,000 vehicles in the U.S. as part of two separate campaigns, according to Reuters and Finance.ua.
According to the information, 123,611 vehicles are being recalled due to the risk of brake fluid leakage. This reduces brake effectiveness and increases stopping distance. This recall affects Ford F-150, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator models produced in 2017–2018.
Dealers will resolve this issue for free by replacing the primary brake cylinder or vacuum booster.
Additionally, another 24,655 vehicles from the 2025 Explorer models will be recalled. Some of these may experience a situation where the powertrain control module (PCM) unexpectedly reboots while in motion, potentially disabling the automatic stop system or shutting off the engine.
This software malfunction will also be fixed by dealers at no charge.
