German company Ruf presented a new eight-cylinder supercar in Goodwood

The German company Ruf, renowned in the world of motorsport and independent automobile manufacturer, unveiled its latest engineering masterpiece at the Gudvud speed festival. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The new prototype, presented under the B8 index, attracted the attention of industry experts and car enthusiasts with its unusual engine design and impressive technical specifications. This project stands out with approaches rarely seen in modern automotive manufacturing.
The main distinctive feature of this supercar is its 4.8-liter, eight-cylinder boxer engine. This unit, traditionally based on the six-cylinder engines used in Porsche models, is equipped with two powerful turbochargers.
According to Ruf engineers, this engine is capable of producing over 986 horsepower and approximately 1000 Newton-meters of torque. Such high specifications place the vehicle among the most powerful models in its class.
Currently, the company is not fully ready for mass production of this model, known as Erprober (meaning "experimental" in German). However, it serves as the main testing ground for advanced technologies to be used in future Ruf models.
Notably, engines of this type have never been publicly used by any manufacturer in this form before, demonstrating just how unique this project is. The prototype's exterior is very similar to the company's famous CTR3 model, but its wheelbase has been extended by 100 millimeters to accommodate the larger engine.
The bright yellow design of the car was chosen as a tribute to the CTR Yellowbird, considered the most legendary model in Ruf's history. Technically, the vehicle is built in a classic style, with the massive power transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
Although the global automotive industry is now transitioning to fully automated transmissions and electric drives, the Ruf brand aims to preserve its traditional driving pleasure. Interestingly, Porsche itself had previously experimented with eight-cylinder boxer engines, but those projects remained at the concept stage.
Ruf has brought this complex idea to life, coming close to opening a new page in the history of high-speed vehicles. While exclusive brands like Ruf are rare in the Uzbekistan automobile market, such technological innovations define the main directions in the supercar segment worldwide.
It is undeniable that the future serial model based on this prototype will become one of the fastest and most unique automobiles in the world. Through this model, the company has once again demonstrated that the boundaries of engineering excellence can still be expanded.
