The German automotive giant Volkswagen has announced its plans to enter the Uzbekistan market. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Martin Sander, a member of the company's management, stated in his LinkedIn post that he is responsible for sales, marketing, and after-sales services, and announced that Volkswagen is planning to establish large-scale vehicle assembly production in Uzbekistan in collaboration with Alyans Auto. Alyans Auto is part of "Uzavtosanoat," and a contract has already been signed between the parties.
This is considered an important step for the German car manufacturer. According to Sanders, Volkswagen aims to offer eight different sedan models to the Uzbekistan market.
This is part of the company's strategy to expand into new markets. The Volkswagen brand is attracting the attention of the middle class in the country, who are interested in quality German cars.
The company's products meet the demands of local car enthusiasts for reliability and modern technologies. Representatives of "Uzavtosanoat" announced that production is planned to start in the last quarter of 2025.
This will ensure the prompt delivery of vehicles to the local market. Initially, Volkswagen intended to enter the Uzbekistan market through its division in Russia, but these plans changed after the events of 2022.
Previously, it was planned to establish car assembly in the "Jizzakh" free economic zone, but now the project will be implemented in collaboration with Alyans Auto. Volkswagen was founded in 1937 and is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world.
The company is known for its popular models such as Golf, Passat, and Beetle. The Audi, Porsche, and Skoda brands are also part of the Volkswagen group.
Entering the Uzbekistan market will be crucial for strengthening the company's position in Central Asia, as the demand for cars in this region is increasing. Uzbekistan is actively developing its automotive industry, and by 2025, several large enterprises assembling passenger and commercial vehicles will be operating in the country.
Collaboration with Volkswagen is expected to further strengthen Uzbekistan's position as a regional automotive industry center.
