Innovative approaches are being implemented to improve the convenience and safety of public transport in various regions of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
In particular, large infrastructure projects aimed at modernizing the urban transport system are being carried out in the city of Tashkent. Within the framework of these reforms, investments amounting to 300 million dollars are being attracted from China.
With these funds, 200 kilometers of roads will be repaired and four bridges will be constructed. This will significantly improve the quality of the city's road network.
Additionally, a smart transport information system will be implemented to reduce traffic congestion on the capital's streets. This system will connect over 700 intersections in Tashkent and integrate all traffic lights as well as photo and video surveillance cameras.
The management of traffic lights will be remotely controlled according to real traffic flow. According to experts' estimates, it is expected that traffic congestion will decrease by 25-30 percent once the new system is implemented.
These measures are aimed at increasing the efficiency of road infrastructure and making movement in the city more convenient.
