Measures to enhance road traffic safety will be strengthened in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
During a meeting chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that the new driver training system has already yielded positive results. In particular, since the beginning of the year, the number of violations committed by inexperienced drivers has decreased by 15 percent, and serious road traffic accidents have reduced by 30 percent.
Nevertheless, the issue of raising pedestrian culture, especially among young people, remains urgent. In this regard, the following tasks were set: before the start of the new academic year, programs on road traffic safety will be fully updated in schools and kindergartens; the "Green Light" competition will be reinstated among school students and youth, with winners at the national level receiving gifts from the President; simple explanatory videos and animations on road traffic rules will be developed; promotional activities on road traffic culture will be organized in neighborhoods and public events.
The meeting also heard reports from regional leaders and representatives of relevant ministries and agencies. These measures will serve to further strengthen road traffic safety.
