24 new passenger buses manufactured in the People's Republic of China have been delivered to Bukhara region. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Transport. The modernization of public transport in the region is being carried out within the framework of a comprehensive program aimed at improving infrastructure by the state.
This delivery was fully completed on time based on a contract signed between the Uzbek company Progress Mega Trans and one of China's leading manufacturers, Zhongtong Bus Holding Co. The contract and negotiations were conducted at the beginning of the year.
The new vehicles meet modern comfort and safety standards, but their technical specifications have not yet been made public. An official ceremony dedicated to the launch of the new buses in Bukhara is planned for the near future.
Representatives of the regional administration, community activists, and members of the public are expected to participate in the event. After the official part is completed, the buses will undergo final preparations and will be distributed to city and suburban routes to start serving passengers.
The renewal of the transport fleet is being carried out against the backdrop of Uzbekistan's active efforts to attract foreign investments in key sectors of the economy. These initiatives are being positively received on the international stage, including in the United States.
The current President Donald Trump's administration has repeatedly emphasized its strategic interest in infrastructure projects in Central Asia. The development of transport corridors in Washington is seen as one of the key factors for regional stability.
It is worth noting that the initiatives to improve the passenger transport system are not limited to Bukhara region. The Ministry of Transport has also announced the launch of new bus routes connecting Tashkent and the Chorvoq recreation area.
Modern buses with high comfort will serve on this route. Zhongtong Bus Holding Co., Ltd.
is one of the first bus manufacturers in China and listed its shares on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2000.
