In Uzbekistan, singer Botir Qodirov was fined 3 million soums for violating copyright, as reported by Nova24.uz. This decision was made following a complaint from poet Shohruh Abduvahidov.
Poet Shohruh Abduvahidov, known by the pen name "Abdusamiy," stated that Qodirov used his poems "Dildora," "Qizgonaman," "So‘ngi nafasgacha," and "Sog‘inib yomon" in his songs without permission and without paying royalties.
In this case, an administrative report was drawn up against Qodirov based on part 1 of article 177 of the Administrative Responsibility Code, and the case was sent to court. The court's decision imposed a fine of 3 million soums on him. Qodirov had previously been fined 1.8 million soums for a similar violation.
