Russian drones attacked the Lviv region of Ukraine

On the evening of March 20, Russian military drones launched an attack on Ukraine's western Lviv region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Maxim Kozitsky, head of the regional military administration, enemy weapons struck a building housing the regional department of Ukraine's Security Service. Although initial reports indicate no casualties or injuries from the attack, significant damage was sustained by the building and its surroundings.
Official sources have not yet announced a full analysis regarding the specific type of drone used and the extent of the damage. Following the attack, emergency services and local authorities are conducting extensive operations in Lviv city to locate unexploded drone parts.
To ensure public safety, residents are advised not to approach unidentified or suspicious objects, particularly drone fragments. This warning is crucial as unexploded parts may contain hazardous materials or explosive devices.
That same evening, Ukraine's armed forces fighting against Russia also came under attack in the Volyn region. According to Roman Romanyuk, head of the regional military administration, Shahed drones targeted energy infrastructure.
As a result, one district in the region was left completely without electricity, leaving over 30,000 residents without light and heating. Novovolynsk Mayor Boris Karpus confirmed that an energy facility suffered serious damage and a major fire broke out there.
According to his information, repair brigades will begin restoration work as soon as conditions permit. Meanwhile, local authorities have established four special community centers to assist residents during the power outage.
At these locations, people will have the opportunity to warm up, charge mobile phones, and access essential services. These events demonstrate that western regions of Ukraine remain under threat.
Although these areas are located further from the front line where combat operations are taking place, they have not been fully protected against long-range drone strikes. Currently, officials have not announced exact figures as the total amount of damage sustained in Lviv and Volyn regions is still being assessed.
Assessment work continues, and more detailed information is expected to be provided in the coming days.
