Javohir Sindorov takes third place at international tournament in Romania

The Super Chess Classic tournament, considered one of the influential chess competitions, concluded in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This international event, held from May 14 to May 23 this year, saw the world's strongest grandmasters competing fiercely for victory. Notably, our compatriot Javohir Sindorov achieved a high result by worthily defending the honor of our country in this prestigious tournament.
The talented Uzbek chess player demonstrated strong will and skill throughout the competition, ultimately securing third place. Javohir Sindorov scored a total of five points during the tournament.
For this achievement, he was awarded a cash prize of $42,500. It is worth noting that securing a place among the winners in such high-level tournaments indicates the growing global influence of the Uzbek chess school.
The winner of the tournament was Vincent Keymer from Germany, who scored six points to claim first place and a prize of $100,000.
Second place went to renowned American grandmaster Fabiano Caruana, who earned 5.5 points and a prize of $65,000.
Another American representative, Wesley So, who scored the same number of points as Javohir Sindorov, shared third and fourth places and also received a prize of $42,500. Following them in the standings were experienced players such as Anish Giri, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Jorden van Foreest, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, and Bogdan-Daniel Deac, each scoring 3.5 points and receiving $18,000.
One of the surprising results of the tournament was Alireza Firouzja, who finished with just one point and earned a $10,000 prize. Such achievements in major tournaments help strengthen the position of young Uzbek chess players on the international stage.
