According to statistical data for the second quarter of 2025, there is a significant increase in the flow of foreign citizens coming to Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This situation confirms the stable positive trend in the country's tourism sector. According to official reports, more than three million tourists visited the republic during the period from April to June, which is approximately 20 percent more than the corresponding period in 2024.
During the reporting quarter, the number of incoming tourists exceeded one million each month, a figure that had not been recorded before. In particular, in April 2025, for the first time, more than one million foreign guests arrived in a single month.
In May, this figure further increased to approximately 1.1 million. In June, the number of tourists remained high, close to 1.1 million.
Industry experts attribute this growth to systematic measures implemented by the government and relevant agencies. Key factors include the simplification of visa procedures and the improvement of the investment environment in the hotel and service sectors.
Additionally, Uzbekistan's international marketing activities have intensified, and participation in major industrial exhibitions, forums, and targeted events has also contributed to the growth. Efforts to develop local infrastructure have positively impacted the overall results.
In the future, the strategic tasks of the sector will focus on diversifying tourist products and enhancing their compliance with international quality standards. In the coming years, the development of ecological and sustainable tourism will be a priority direction.
This measure will respond to the global demand for responsible travel, attract new tourist segments, and help preserve unique natural and cultural heritage. Uzbekistan has four UNESCO World Heritage sites: the historical centers of Bukhara and Khiva (Itchan-Kala), the city of Samarkand at the crossroads of cultures, and Shahrisabz.
These cities are considered the main centers of cultural and educational tourism in the country.
