Nikita Khaykin, a goalkeeper playing for the Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt, expressed his thoughts on the possibility of being called up to the Russian national team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that he is in constant contact with the team's goalkeeper coach, Vitaliy Kafanov. According to Khaykin, they regularly communicate and have a mutual understanding of the current situation and the best decision for him.
In the current circumstances, he stated that joining the national team would not help the team. This year, the 30-year-old player has appeared on the field 35 times in all competitions, conceding 42 goals.
Additionally, he has finished 12 matches without conceding a goal. Khaykin's market value is estimated at around two million euros.
It was previously reported that he has the opportunity to obtain Norwegian citizenship. Due to the abundance of quality goalkeepers in Russia, there is a possibility that Khaykin may choose the Norwegian team in the national team selection.
