On May 19, 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, got acquainted with a presentation dedicated to the ongoing work in the construction materials industry and the priority tasks in the sector.
The President was informed that by the end of this year, 312 new projects worth $2.4 billion are planned to be implemented in the sector. This will create 16,000 high-income new jobs, increase the total production volume to 53 trillion soums, and raise the export figure to $1.2 billion.
Quality, cost, and construction culture – the most important criteria
Officials provided information to the President on how they plan to achieve the set indicators, practical measures for implementing modern technologies, and enhancing the competitiveness of local products.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that quality, cost, and construction culture are among the main criteria in the sector. He paid special attention to the effective use of local materials in construction and the production of products that meet modern standards.
Energy saving and innovation – key directions
The presentation highlighted that last year, an energy audit conducted in large enterprises identified the potential to save 300 million kilowatt-hours of energy. The President stressed the need to reduce costs through technological renewal and rational organization of the production process.
Reliable control and “Transparent construction”
The head of state noted the necessity of forming a register of enterprises producing construction materials through the “Transparent construction” platform and ensuring open and quality control of their activities.
