The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution on the implementation of the project "Development of the value chain in Uzbekistan's dairy industry (Phase 2)" with the participation of the International Fund for Agricultural Development. This resolution is an important step aimed at further developing the value chain in the dairy sector and improving the well-being of the population.
According to the adopted resolution, the main goals and objectives of the project are defined as follows:
- Establishing 100 modern milk collection points serving 12,000 households and farms engaged in milk production in 320 neighborhoods in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Syrdarya, Samarkand, and Surkhandarya regions;
- Ensuring the allocation of preferential loans of up to 250,000 US dollars for the establishment and modernization of milk processing enterprises for 865 households and farms;
- Creating and launching innovative National Dairy Products Platform software that unites milk producers and buyers.
This project will be implemented over 7 years (2025–2031), and as a result of these efforts, it is expected that the dairy sector of the country will reach a new level, increasing employment, income, and the volume of milk production.
According to experts, this project will provide an opportunity to introduce modern technologies in the dairy sector and enhance the competitiveness of local dairy products in domestic and foreign markets.
